Water for the Dolgarrog hydro-electric power station is conveyed in these pipes down the extremely steep valley side. It is this drop from the hanging valleys occupied by impounded lakes that makes generation viable. One pipe is from Llyn Cowlyd, the other from Coedty Reservoir.
