This is the site of Amman Valley Royal Observer Corps post nuclear bunker, opened in October 1959 and closed in September 1991. Now filled with gravel and surrounded by nettles, the bunker's ventilation pillar can just be seen to the right of the image along with the telegraph pole which accompanies so many of these bunkers. The bunker's hatch could also be observed through the undergrowth though a large concrete plug had been placed there.
