View northward, towards Neath, Swansea etc.; ex-GWR South Wales main line. The locomotive is of particular interest, being one of 20 28XX 2-8-0s temporarily converted to burn oil in the abortive scheme of 1945-47: this locomotive (No. 2854) was converted in 11/45, renumbered 4801 in 11/46 and converted back to coal-burning in 2/49. The station was closed 2/11/64 (goods 6/9/65) but reopened 1/6/94 for local services.
