The start of work on the construction of a new village hall which will serve Seagry, Startley & Great Somerford. The field is called Goss Croft. The existing village hall, 100 metres up the road to Startley, dates from 1917 http://www.gosscroft.co.uk/old-hall-history.php , but "it is well past its serviceable life and is condemned in both its dilapidating structure, lack of almost all modern standards in its facilities and appearance ... the benefits and urgency of constructing a new hall cannot be underestimated" http://www.gosscroft.co.uk/ . In spite of the last statement, work has started on a new building.
