Scene of crime: Picardy Place, opposite birthplace of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle 1859 Missing, whereabouts unknown; last seen 2009. Link to previous crime scene: house of Arthur Conan Doyle demolished c.1970 Theory: Suspicious activity in area shortly before abduction. Mysterious holes opened up in road. No further sign of activity since. Offenders appear too afraid to return to the scene. Possible culprit(s): Edinburgh City Council Possible motive: a deep psychological urge to annoy local residents as much as possible Question(s) to be put to suspects: Where is he being held hostage?
