The lion is one of 50 dotted around the town during the 'Pride in Bournemouth' art event. Local people entered their designs and the winning ones now appear in prominent locations in the town centre with a few in outlying areas. This particular one stands in the pedestrianised section of Commercial Road, home to many familiar High-Street shops. The art event's website is here: http://www.prideinbournemouth.com/
