Suburb on the east side of the city, one where a clean car seems an absolute necessity judging by the number of car wash set-ups there are. In his recent book "So you think you know about Britain?" Danny Dorling, Professor of Human Geography at the University of Sheffield likened the workers of car washes to servants. In the old days lots of not even wealthy families had servants, to do the menial jobs for peanuts; now poor people work for probably less than a living wage to clean and polish the cars of the not necessarily wealthy. see Image] and Image] for 2 more, within 1/2 mile.
