Although it retains the word hotel in its name, this is no longer a hotel but a J D Wetherspoon pub. It re-opened as such on the 22nd December 1994. On this site was one of Bromsgrove's oldest coaching inns. It was replaced by the present building in 1932, which was designed by Watson & Johnson of Birmingham, in a mildly art deco style.
