View NW from the footbridge at the north end of Chester General on a busy Summer Saturday (cf.Image]). The 08.10 WR express from Birmingham Snow Hill is weaving past Chester No. 3 Box into No. 13 platform and will be reversed to continue to Birkenhead Woodside. It is headed by 4-6-0 No. 6879 'Overton Grange' (the last 'Grange', built 5/39, withdrawn 10/65). The station was immensely busy at this time, but the only other locomotive in the scene is a Stanier 2-6-4T.
