Giving the house named title, it was originally a home of the eminent Erskine family before becoming the private Inchkeith School. The school closed in 2003 and the 18th. century house was returned to it original use as a private home. It is currently on the market for a substantial sum over one million pounds. The house is now a Category B Listed Building. As we view the house, a medieval hospital and chapel (founded by the local lairds, the Bruce family) was situated on what is now the drive.
