View eastward, towards Reading and London; ex-GWR Paddington - Reading - Swindon etc. main line. A 14.23 Relief Reading - Carmarthen is headed by 'Modified Hall' 4-6-0 No. 6983 'Otterington Hall' (built 2/48, withdrawn 8/65). Over on the left is the line to Oxford and - nowadays the Didcot Railway Centre.
