Seen here from the foreshore at low tide. One of two converted warehouses just downstream from the bridge. Both are of very rugged construction - reminiscent of a Glasgow or Edinburgh tenement. What particularly interested me about this one was that I'm sure it is slightly wider at its foundations than it is up under the eaves. The effect is subtle, and I'm aware that perspective means that this shot isn't altogether convincing. Walls which 'lean back' like this are known technically as 'battered'. There are dramatic examples in China and Tibet, but they are also characteristic of parts of Eastern Europe. I am quite intrigued to find them here, in West Wales.
