Looking north from the southern edge of the grid square. Just north-east of the ramparts of Buckland Rings iron-age camp is this old quarry (looks like a sandpit) which is used by local teenagers as a place to practise their bike stunts. Beech and silver birch grow in the sandy soil, and the Lymington-Brockenhurst single-track railway can be seen in the background.
