A disused coal and later oil-fired power station which supplied electricity to the London Underground system. It was shut down on 21 October 2002, since when power for the Underground system has been supplied by the National Grid. The derelict building is now owned by a property company but plans for the redevelopment of the site have been delayed because of the economic downturn.
