Endon Basin, beyond Bridge No 27A, was built in 1917 as a canal/railway interchange wharf, but is now used by the Stoke-on-Trent Boat Club. There is a substantial winding hole this side of the bridge to turn seventy feet long narrowboats round. The Caldon Canal (opened in 1779) continues off to the east (right).
