Old milestone on London Road, Guildford. The A3 London-Portsmouth road now by-passes this former main road which once led through traffic to the centre of Guildford. Stoke is now a suburb of Guildford and Ripley village is also by-passed by the A3. Note the bench mark and the London destination is not Charing Cross but is Hyde Park Corner. www.guildford.gov.uk
