The covered passageway linked the Imperial Hotel to the station, emerging on to platform 2. It was opened in 1863, but has been disused for many decades, probably since the hotel became a girls boarding school. In addition to the metal gates there are doors which have been locked for at least 40 years that I have used this station. Image]
