The view from the footbridge as the new platform starts to take shape. Notice the coal staithes on the left still obstructing the exit from what later became platform 2. The goods shed on the right was still used by Pickfords at this time for storage and transhipment and one of their vans can be seen beyond the canopy. This building is now the SVR North Star carriage works.
