George Street in Ryde, Isle of Wight. Ryde is connected to the British mainland by ferries, and also by hovercraft. In this image a hovercraft is heading across the Solent towards Ryde. In the far distance is the mainland. The tall white tower, just visible on the far side of the Solent, is Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower.
