The name of the field according to Arlington's 1843 tithe map that has been split into two distinct fields since at least the early 1970s. This is the northern part next to Tye Hill Road with the southern portion beyond the hedge. Woodside Farm can be seen in the distance. The name derives from 'devonshiring' an old method of improving the fertility of fields by burning.
