Above Marks and Spencer at the southern side of the eastern end of the street stands Queen Victoria; below her a reproduction of the original C19 facade. Beyond at the corner is a "lumpily chamfered projection, topped by a ridiculously small lantern reused from its early C20 predecessor" (Cherry & Pevsner). Behind this, frontages on the High Street and the cathedral tower.
