View southward, towards Dr. Day's Bridge Junction and Bristol (Temple Meads etc.); ex-GWR Bristol & South Wales main line. This Summer Saturday express left Minehead at 12.20 and was joined by the Ilfracombe (dep. 13.10) portion at Taunton, then ran through Bristol and via Filton Junction, Yate, Gloucester avoiding-line, Cheltenham, Stratford-on-Avon and Birmingham (Snow Hill) to Wolverhampton (Low Level) (arr. 18.20). The locomotive is 4-6-0 No. 5999 'Wollaton Hall' (built 6/40, withdrawn 12/65).
