Bedford Street Locks at Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent

A narrowboat emerges having descended the locks at Bedford Street on the Caldon Canal. The two locks here are constructed as a staircase. The water from the upper lock is emptied straight into the lower lock. Care needs to exercised and paddles opened in the correct order. Image]
