At least that is how it is spelled on the plaque on the wall, which also has the date of 1877. Persevrance Cottage is in The Grove in Swanscombe and is now a funeral director's. I can only assume that it was intended to call it Perseverance Cottage but by putting it on a plaque, the Victorians perpetuated the spelling mistake.
