This is the second of two blue plaques fastened to the front of Image (see also Image). Although the plaque credits Priestley with the discovery of oxygen there are, however, two other scientists who also lay claim to the discovery. Notwithstanding this Joseph Priestley was a respected scientist, historian and theologian.
