Dinton Castle ruins - from the inside

A view from inside the ruined folly of Dinton Castle. This is quite a romantic looking ruin and hopefully will be preserved. Scaffolding has been erected to hold some of the window arches which were particularly in danger of collapse. The building is EH Grade II* listed http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1118308&searchtype=mapsearch Note: [2018] Passing this structure a few weeks ago it seems to have undergone the most dramatic transformation. A little research on the web reveals that it was sold for £56,000 at auction to a "businessman who plans to use it as weekend hideaway", and in January 2017 planning permission was granted by Aylesbury Vale District Council for the castle to be renovated into a two-bedroomed dwelling. This renovation now appears to be nearing completion ...
