Around half of London's "Underground" railway system is, in fact, above ground. This view looks westwards from West Kensington towards Baron's Court. The tracks in the foreground are used by the District Line. In the background is a slope taking the Piccadilly Line into tunnel. The train on the slope is heading into the tunnel which will take it beneath Central London. It will not emerge into daylight again until it reaches the suburbs of North London.
