Hammersmith New Cemetery was opened in 1926, the same year as Fulham New Cemetery on the other side of Mortlake Road. This view is not far from the entrance gates. Although they are in the Borough of Richmond upon Thames, both cemeteries are operated by the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.
