Judging by the number of holes (for legs) in the stocks, it looks as if more than one person could have been "accommodated" at the same time. Presumably, in medieval times, the nice roof over the stocks wouldn't have been there, so people imprisoned in these would have been completely exposed to the elements. But probably they had more to fear from their enemies and victims, than to worry about the weather. Image
