John Harrison was well-known throughout Ashton for his generosity to the poor during hard times in the late 1800s. This statue, entitled "The Ashton Market Trader - Uncle John the Pie Man", is outside Ashton Market Hall at the corner of Bow Street and Market Street. It was unveiled in September 2005.
