View northward, towards Gloucester; ex-GW Swindon - Gloucester etc. main line. The train is on the ex-GW pair of tracks - on which there no station at Haresfield, the ex-Midland Birmingham - Bristol main line pair being on the left and its Haresfield station just south of here. (See Image] for more detail). The 11.45 Cheltenham - Paddington (arr. 15.00) is headed by 'Castle' 4-6-0 5071 'Spitfire', built 6/38 as 'Clifford Castle', renamed in 9/40, recently fitted with double-chimney and withdrawn 10/63.
