View eastwards, towards London; ex-GWR Paddington - Reading and the West main line. The 16.45 Paddington - Oxford - Worcester - Hereford express is headed by 'Castle ' 4-6-0 5071 'Spitfire' (built 6/38 as 'Clifford Castle', renamed 9/40, recently fitted with double-chimney, withdrawn 10/63). (What on earth has the driver got on his head?)
