Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. About six hundred metres ahead is Longford Lock, which was badly damaged the day before, and has been closed for repair for around four hours on this morning. The approaching boat is the first through since re-opening, and a queue of fourteen boats on the right will still have to wait another two and a half hours for all to go through the lock. Some boat crews had to moor overnight, making a real mess of their schedules if they had to be back to base by a certain time on Friday or Saturday. The bridge ahead carries the M6 motorway.
