Bishops Lydeard station was originally opened in 1862 as part of the Taunton to Watchet railway line. It is now the southernmost terminal of the West Somerset Railway which runs trains to Minehead and back through pleasant undulating scenery with views of the north Somerset coast. There is also a small museum at the station. The old station master's house looms over the train on the right.
