The Old Station House on the corner of Station Road and Welland Mews dates from 1856, according to the date carved on it. This was originally Stamford East station and was later known as Stamford Water Street. It was the terminus of the Bread and Onion Line - see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2396907.
