The sign showing "no cars" at the foot of this unsurfaced byway at Nazeing Long Green is unusual (it is different from the more commomn "no motor vehicles" sign which also shows motorcycles being banned). Since motor vehicles are in fact permitted on byways (at the driver's risk!) the sign and the concrete blocks might have been placed by local residents rather than the highway authority.
