The bus is parked between two former Lewis Merthyr colliery buildings. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2430643 It is an AEC (Associated Equipment Company) Regent V front-engined bus, formerly part of the Rhondda Transport fleet. Its fleet number is 457 and registration number is 457 KTG. At its peak in the 1950s, Rhondda Transport was the biggest bus company in Wales with a fleet of more than 200 buses. It was taken over by Western Welsh in 1971.
