New Street, Randalstown

New Street in Randalstown, part of the A6 road. Prior to the construction of the M2 motorway, this was the main route between L'Derry and Belfast which passed right through Randalstown. After some research, I believe that Randlstown Methodist Church used to stand on the right of the street where the petrol station now is. This appears to have been demolished sometime in the 1970s or 1980s, presumably due to a falling congregation and closure of the church (no replacement was built in the area). A flush bracket bench mark was sited on the front of the church (exact location Image); this has also been destroyed. It had the number OSBM 3280 and was levelled to 35.45 metres above MSL.
