The road leads from the Ebbw Bridge (or Pont Ebbw) roundabout into a site occupied by various government offices, including the Office for National Statistics and the Intellectual Property Office (formerly the Patents Office). The site was developed in the late 1960s for its original occupier, the BSO (Business Statistics Office), later renamed CSO (Central Statistics Office) and finally (for now!) ONS (Office for National Statistics). Some locals still refer to the site as "the BSO".
