Foots Cray Place was burnt down in 1949 and demolished in 1950. The estate was combined with that of North Cray Place (also demolished) to form Foots Cray Meadows, the largest open space in the Borough of Bexley. There are many fine trees as would be expected, and this one has protective railings around it. A view of the tree with its leaves out can be seen at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2456446
