The headgear is on New Cook's Kitchen Shaft. This mine was the last tin producer in Cornwall (ignoring minor stream works) and finally closed in 1998. However interest and activity have continued and re-opening is not out of the question. There used to be a massive concrete engine house on this shaft (I think I saw it in the early 1980s) that housed a beam pumping engine that worked into the 1950s but was stopped by a broken beam.
