Bridge of Earn Hospital was one of the "temporary" hospitals erected at the beginning of the Second World War to deal with casualties from enemy bombing. In the event it was not required for that purpose, but became, inter alia, a rehabilitation centre. After WWII it became an NHS hospital and remained such until the 1990s. The site is now being developed for housing.
