View along this small country to the junction where the road left goes to Cowarhill and Newton Stewart and straight ahead to Baltersan. The Galloway Hills can be seen on the horizon. I can't find a record of the place Cowarhill, although there is a hill a called Corwar Hill off this road which leads to Knockbrex Toll and the A75.
