View eastwards, from a passing train on the Perth etc. - Glasgow etc. ex-Caledonian main line. The Depot served the LNER (ex-North British) lines, which came to Stirling from Dunfermline and Alloa in the east and from Balloch to the west. In 1947 it had an allocation of 22 engines (2 4-4-0, 15 0-6-0, 2 2-6-2T and 3 0-6-0T), also one steam railcar. It closed on 16/9/57. The two engines in the view were J77 0-6-0T No. 68351 and J35 0-6-0 No. 64520, both ex-NB.
