Nelly's shop was one of many corner shops in existence in the Fishpool area when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s. Nelly herself was a gritty northern woman with an ear for gossip...she sold a few dairy items, chocolate, crisps and bread etc. Typical Lancashire grocer's shop...now split into 2 houses.
