A beautiful display in Victoria Park. Finchley has a significant Japanese community and following the devastating tsunami of 2011 I have on several occasions witnessed people of Japanese origin pausing in thought beside this tree. The Cherry holds special significance in Japanese culture, its yearly cycle representing the cycle of human life.
