Chwarel Fron Quarry

This photograph taken from the road shows the Chwarel Fron Pit. This was worked from the mid-19th century until the 1950s. In its hey-day the quarry employed up to 100 men. The quarry is now owned by Hogan Brothers, who work the tips to provide hard core for road building.
