Tangmere Airfield

I believe this is a taxiing strip which lies in the shape of a U to the south of Tangmere. The airfield was opened in 1917 and closed in 1970 after which parts of the airfield was built upon. This section is entered to the right from a lane from Oving which is marked on the 1940s map as an A road. A footpath heads eastwards towards the rejoined lane near Aldingbourne. The southern section of the airfield appears to be used by a composting company.
