The Ankerwycke Estate - just across the Thames from Runnymede - was acquired by the National Trust in 1998, according to a notice displayed near the farmyard. The pink-brick farmhouse seems to have been thoroughly refurbished, while the farmyard now appears little used, with some buildings standing derelict.
