A plaque on the wall of the tower tells the fascinating history of the church. The original building was 15th century but was never consecrated. In ruins, it was converted to Almshouses in the 16th century and was used as such until the 19th century. The building was restored in 1861-62 and used as a chapel until 1975 when it was closed and sold and converted to three dwellings.
